Does the Dawn 30L look like a camera bag?
No. It's designed to look like a minimalist commuter backpack — the camera protection is hidden inside, so it doesn't advertise the expensive gear you're carrying.
What can I fit inside?
Up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a 13-inch iPad in the padded internal sleeves. With the removable Modular Unit installed, it also holds a camera body with several lenses and accessories, plus room for everyday and travel essentials.
Can I use it without the camera insert?
Yes. The Modular Unit is fully removable — lift it out and the Dawn becomes a streamlined everyday and travel backpack with 30L of open space, expandable to 40L.
Is it weatherproof? Will my gear stay dry?
The exterior is weatherproof 400D nylon (PFAS-free) with YKK splashguard zippers, and every pack includes a dedicated rain cover for heavy downpours.
Is it carry-on friendly for flights?
In its standard form the body measures 45 x 35 x 22 cm, which fits within most airlines' cabin allowances. It expands to about 55 cm in height for extra space — in the expanded state it may exceed some carry-on limits, and rules vary by airline, so check your carrier before flying.
How much does it weigh, and is it comfortable when loaded?
It weighs 1.357 kg (2.99 lbs). An internal steel frame and IXPE honeycomb spring back panel keep the pack structured and support the load, while a removable MOLLE waist strap shifts weight off your shoulders on longer carries.
How do I get to my camera quickly?
Fidlock magnetic buckles open the main access points one-handed, so you can reach the Modular Unit and grab your camera without setting the bag all the way down.
